Music Ministry

Choir 5.21.06 Easter_2007

Choir members, director and organist bless us each Sunday with their music especially with their Easter and Christmas cantatas. Our digital organ, purchased in 2005, is an asset to Sunday worship services. The organ was paid in full by member contributions.

Children & Youth Ministries

Our Children & Youth Ministry (also known as “Young Christians”) is one reflection of
how we value young Christians as a vital part of our community.

You can discover more about this area of ministry and service here:  Young Christians.
If you would like more information or want to learn about getting involved, please do not
hesitate to contact our Education Ministries Co-Chairs, Dorothy Carrington and
Robert Davis or our Youth Ministries Chair, Janine Rosener.

Young Christians

We encourage the presence of children in every aspect of worship. We recognize,
however, that many parents of infants and toddlers prefer to have childcare assistance
during worship and most young children benefit from some age-appropriate teaching.

In order to enrich the worship experience for both children and parents we provide a
nursery for children birth through 3 years and an instructional time for children  4 years through 5 grade.

The children begin worship with their families (the nursery is available during the entire Service) and then are dismissed prior to the sermon to attend  Sunday School.  After Worship, everyone is invited to  Coffee Hour and fellowship.

Our Youth program includes study, fellowship, worship, service, and outreach throughout
the year.  It is designed to meet the spiritual needs of youth in an environment that is safe, exciting, and fun.

A typical meeting includes a reflection topic and time for fellowship and games.  Other
activities include service projects, participation in worship events, and retreats. The
activities seek to link Biblical themes and ideals to the issues facing youth today.  It also allows and encourages youth to put their faith into action by serving others.

All youth are welcome and everyone is respected.

Safe Sanctuary Policy is observed in all children and youth activities.

Vacation Bible School

SUNDAY SCHOOL and VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL programs are lively, colorful, and overwhelmingly well received.  Enthusiastic teachers and staff as well as the kids have wonderful, fun experiences. An important aspect of both programs is collecting items for local and global missions. The late Ingrid Sloth was a driving force behind both Sunday School and VBS for many years. The Ingrid Sloth Memorial VBS fund continues to support these activities.
